Urban Farming Instructor

  
Calling all individuals who have a passion for plants and would love to grow your own food! We have a new instructor position that trains you in modern urban farming techniques and outdoor facilitation. 
  
We have a brand new Aquaponics Academy located at Pasir Ris Downtown East and we are searching for the young as well as the young at heart to lead our new 2022 Urban Farming Tours!

Urban Farming Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Tour-in-Charge in activity management for programmes at Metro Farm Downtown East 
  • Conduct fun & interactive science based activities with youths
  • Facilitate learning of modern aquaponics within the group
  • Assist in logistical setup safety management and group movement

Instructor Requirements:
  • Vibrant and dynamic
  • Passion for working with youths and adults 
  • Passion for gardening, high tech urban farming and working with aquaculture 
We'll arm you with the skills to lead and facilitate groups. 

The Instructor qualification process is as follows: 

 

High Achievers Camp Instructor Registration

   

1. Registration

Please register your interest with High Achievers here for us to understand your areas of interest and work preferences. Our recruiters will contact you to arrange for a suitable time to meet for an interview as well as a briefing.

2. Registration with MOE (GUIDE)

In order to participate in MOE events, you will be required to be registered with MOE at https://www.moe.gov.sg/education-in-sg/our-programmes/cca/register

The approval process takes between 6 - 8 weeks due to necessary checks. It is highly recommended that you start this process early even before attending the group interview session. This registration is done on an individual basis, regardless of the organization you represent. 

Under the IRS scheme, please use these selections as the base programs that you are applying for. However, should you be qualified individually for other programs, feel free to include them.

Please login to your MOE IRS account intermittently to check if your application has been approved. Once approved please forward it to recruit@highachievers.com.sg and WhatsApp a screenshot of the clearance to 98215914. 
  
3. Group Interview Session
We conduct Group Interview Sessions in our office, located at the General Magnetics Building in Toa Payoh. Please come dressed in smart casual attire and bring an open mind! You will also be required to bring your Identity Card for verification purposes.

Walk-in applicants are welcome! However, please note that the minimum age requirement is 18 years old as specified by the Ministry Of Education.
  
4. HA Aquaponics Facilitator Training Course (AFTC)

Once you have cleared our selection process, our senior High Achievers Instructors will conduct a 1-day training course (9am - 6pm) to provide you with the necessary skills required to manage our camp participants.

Upon successful completion of this training, you will be assigned specialisation badges which will qualify you to receive notifications about our upcoming projects in our training calendar.

From there on, you will join project teams and will be tasked to start preparing for camps together with your respective project heads!
